Section of Jubilee leaders from Meru, are asking the opposition to forego the planned swearing in of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Stephen or they will have to face the full force of law.
Led by Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi, they advised the leaders to embrace dialogue and avoid activities that will divide Kenyans. Speaking during the burial of KTDA chairman Stephen Mutahi in Imenti south constituency, the leaders asked opposition leader Raila Odinga to call off the swearing in arguing that this will be violating the constitution.
“Let your heart not be troubled, since this is a plan heading them nowhere,” Said Mr. Kiraitu. Other leaders added that the constitution is very clear on how one can be sworn in as a president, elaborating on who is supposed to announce the candidate and who should swear-in the president, where and at what time among others.
They ruled out the possibility of having such an event come the end of this month.
