Isiolo Governor Godana Doyo has reshuffled his cabinet and Chief Officers yesterday in order to restructure major changes and revamp key sectors.
Ali Surrow, formerly CEC Finance and Economic planning was moved to water, Energy and Climate change, Ahmed Boru Shone , Roads and Infrastructure, Asha Abdi CEC health and also on acting capacity for Finance and Economic planning, Amina Adan, lands and Environment, Patrick Lesengei , Agriculture, livestock, Fisheries and irrigation, Suleiman Shunu, Tourism while Maulid Hassan maintained his former docket in charge of Education, vocational training and sports.
Doyo also moved the following Chief officers Fayo Galgalo Habane to Finance and Economic planning, Kenneth Maore sports, Hussein Huka Medical Services, Hadija Dida Public Health, Patrick Lenawasai Tourism ,Barnabus Esunyen Culture and Social services, Hudson Kinyua Trade, Enterprise and industrialization,Halake Tadicha Lands and Environment.
Others are Yussuf Mohamed Energy and climate change,Giro Liban administration, Cohesion and ICT in the Governors office,Adan Huka, acting chief officer for Agriculture and Irrigation, Ali Wario was moved to Water, while Amina Godana and Amina Gamadid retained Roads and Education and vocational training respectively.
The Governor also moved two chief officers Wario Boru and Gollo Boru to work under the Governors office while the following were appointed to take up various duties under the Governors office, Batula Ali Ibrahim,Acting program coordinator,joyce Nganga Executive Administrator while Muntaz Bishar was appointed Protocol and inter-governmental coordination
The Governor who addressed the media in his office directed that the changes takes place with immediate effect as the County revisit and rethink its strategic policies in line with Vision 2030 blue print in an effort aimed at taking the County into the next level.
'' I made a solemn pledge to the people of Isiolo that we are going to make a difference in the way the business of the government and management of the public affairs are carried out with singular objective of improving service delivery,'' said the Governor
Doyo said the changes will help enhance service delivery within the department and enable the County to evaluate its performance and take necessary remedial measures to address on gaps and challenges.
The major changes in the Cabinet affected almost all the County Executive Officers and Chiefs officers with some of them having been merged to restructure and realign with the constitutional requirements.
Mr Mohamed Abduba, a resident welcomed the reshuffle and hoped that the appointment will re-energize some of the sectors that are directly involved in community development.
He said the reshuffle had met the demands of the communities adding that all the executives had been moved to different dockets to proof themselves whether they are capable for the job or not.
